St. Luke’s Medical Center is set to open a specialty hospital in Davao City in Azuela Cove, an Aviana Development project and a joint venture of Ayala Land Inc. and The Alcantara Group of Companies.
Dr. Edgardo R. Cortez, M.D. President and CEO of St. Luke’s Medical Center during the formal announcement in Marco Polo Davao.
The formal announcement of St. Luke’s in Davao was done last August 26, 2017 at The Ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel Davao. This was a day after Azuela Cove had their media and official launching which was attended by President Duterte.
St. Luke’s Medical Center is said to bring world-class healthcare services to Davao City this 2020. This will be the third St. Luke’s in the country opening at the southern part of the Philippines at the Azuela Cove which is a 25 hectare property being developed in Lanang, Davao City.
The tertiary healthcare facility of St. Luke’s in Davao will have at least 250 beds. Healthcare services will be similar to their two other Manila-based hospitals. State of the art medical technology will be used and it will include a wellness center that is designed for disease prevention, early diagnosis of diseases, and life coaching as well.
St. Luke’s or SMLC is known as one of the best hospitals in the world. They will be bringing into Davao the medical expertise, highly skilled healthcare professionals and nursing staff, experienced administrative leadership, good clinical outcomes as well as high quality patient safety standards as they are said to be known for as a hospital.
St. Luke’s in Davao City should prove to be their growing and continuous effort to provide top-tier medical and healthcare in the Philippines. Their coming to Davao, for some of us people of Davao, should serve as a challenge for the existing hospitals to improve and level-up their services. Yet hopefully, the existing hospitals will make their services more affordable and at the same time more quality healthcare to the people.
