Why Davao City Needs More #DigitalInfluencers
We live in a digital age where people’s lives and life events are shared and can be seen posted online. During these times, we have seen the rise of digital influencers, people who make an impact on our lives with our daily decisions. They may have an influence on us on how we think and act, what we want, even what we want to be sometimes.
Why Davao City Needs More #DigitalInfluencers?
- We still need to continue to promote Davao City more to the world even to people from other parts of the Philippines. It continues to be a work in progress. We need more partners for our friends in the Tourism industry to continuously promote Davao City to the rest of the country and to the world. It is interesting to note that some people think it is not safe to live here, basing their perception on what they only see in the news before perhaps of what has happened in other far away places of Mindanao. Let more digital influencers encourage these people to travel to Davao City and even live here in our safe city. Life is here in Davao City!
- We do need to follow certain people online who influence us, who share our thoughts and interests. But some come and go. We need more of them since these days, some if not most of us, rely and base our daily decisions on where to eat in Davao City or where to hang out with friends in the city this weekend; what’s new and trending in Davao; where to go to travel next; what stores and in which mall to go to buy for clothes; where and what to eat in Davao; which coffee shop to go to; what recipe to cook; what beauty products are best to buy; where to shop for certain stuff; what to wear; where to chill, relax and unwind; to know what is the latest in the news or what events are happening and will be happening in Davao City. We would love to have more influencers in Davao who know more of these things. Life will be easier.
- We need more influencers in the light of the recent happening to show the rest of the country and the world that with God’s protection, as well as our government and police authorities, we can uplift our fellow people of Davao City to rise above this tragedy peacefully and that we will stand strong as one city, Davao City, the home of our current President Rodrigo “Rody” Roa Duterte.
Digital influencers in Davao City can play a significant role in letting more people, like foreign and local tourists, know it is still safe to travel or even live here. Realistically, there can be concerns just like this in any known city, in any known part of the world, even in the strongest of nations. Through social media, influencers can help people focus more on the goodness of humanity and that life is still beautiful no matter what we may see or what we may be going through at a certain point of our life. That there is always an opportunity to be of help to people in need, to influence people to keep a strong faith in times like this. We will continue to pray as we live stronger and more faithful while hoping for the best. There will be brighter and better days ahead as we live a life giving more meaning into each day that we wake up to in this beautiful city of Davao. As influencers, we can use our voice to intensify our call for people to cooperate with security measures taken by authorities at this relevant time, to unite in prayer, to be vigilant, to be a responsible part of our society.
- Personally, I feel we need more online influencers from Davao who can help remind, educate people and increase real awareness on Davao City ordinances like the 10:00PM curfew on minors who are unescorted or those who do not have guardians or parents with them at that time they are out; the comprehensive smoking ban in Davao City; the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999; noise pollution and ban on loud singing and use of the karaoke by 9:00PM in the city; proper solid waste management (that the open burning of solid waste is strictly prohibited); and other important city ordinances that people need to respect, observe and follow. All these ordinances are for the good of the majority of the people in Davao City and we can apply these throughout the country as well. Even without these ordinances, as digital influencers, we can help convince people to start a good change within themselves as their contribution to the well-being of our community. Change has to start from within ourselves, it will be our contribution to a better society. A strong call for this kind is not to be taken negatively but constructively and we should constantly remind people to act on it so that we can still make a difference to save the earth that we live in.
Being part of the Davao Digital Influencers (DDI), my partner and I are positively looking forward to be able to grow and be of help to the community with our friends and fellow influencers, our #DDIBarkada in Davao City. To be part of this new and growing community where we hope to belong without being treated differently, but as a part of the #DDIBarkada. We have re-connected with old friends in the blogging community through DDI. We are also happy to meet new influencers: bloggers, our beautiful and talented video bloggers, and the microbloggers connecting with them as we make a significant impact during these times when influencers are on the rise and hopefully become better influencers especially for those of us here in Davao City.
There is now another purpose to use our voice of influence in this world where more and more people connect online each day. May this new journey with the Davao Digital Influencers be as exciting, fun learning experience and as meaningful as we think it will be.
We look forward to a meaningful Davao Digital Influencers launching!
See you, #DDIBarkada! May God bless us all!
