Life is Here: The Davao Bloggers’ Tour 2012
Taking a break from our busy daily routine, my hubby and I took part last weekend of the Davao Bloggers Tour sponsored by the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) and SMART Communications who lent each of the four groups a Pocket Wifi. This fun tour happened last Saturday, July 14, 2012.
There were four groups namely Toril Trailblazers (to which hubby and I were a part of), Calinan Thrill-seekers, Downtown Explorers, and the Uptown Adventurers.
Together with one photographer from the On Any Sunday PhotoWalk group, Jaycee Santiago and Ms. Sandra of the CTOO, we toured three tourist destinations that are known and popular in Davao City to help promote the city’s tourist spots, discover more about them and use social media to let people know through this Familiarization Tour that life is here in Davao City.
The said tour dubbed as “Life is Here: The Davao Bloggers’ Tour” gave us a chance to share to people not only in Davao but our friends elsewhere in the country, through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Instagram), of the nice places to visit here if and when they do come to Davao City. It was great to be part of this fun event, escapade and adventure.
The Toril Trailblazers visited:
Villa Carmelita Inland Resort and Hotel (formerly known as Emerlyn’s Inland Resort)
One of Davao’s popular tourist destinations. It is a haven for those longing to be close to nature and spend a relaxing day with your family especially on weekends and holidays. For me a trip to Eden is always a breather away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
You got to see where they plant their fresh herbs and vegetables that we often buy in the supermarket and grocery. They also have a restaurant that offers buffet meals – a must try! They serve fresh, delicious greens for that healthy salad from their own garden. It is a delight for those health conscious people out there and also for tourists.
Loleng’s Mountain Spring Resort
When you go to Eden, you might as well drop by here and enjoy the cool weather in this place. It is also a nice place for the family to have a picnic together and spend quality and relaxing time bonding with your loved ones here. The place is beautiful and peaceful. You get to see a nice view of Davao. Plus you should try to take a dip at their free-flowing spring water swimming pool. You don’t need to worry if you get hungry since they have a restaurant ready to serve you in case you get hungry.
Side trip to Sto. Rosario Church
Visiting these tourists destinations allowed us to explore them. Once again we are reminded that Davao, life is here indeed and we are blessed with such places that bring us closer to mother nature. At the same time these places are great destinations to go and visit, to bond as well as spend relaxing and fun times with your family, friends and visitors or tourists that you may know who will come to travel and explore our beautiful and progressive Davao City.
