Price of Rice Goes Up Again

Price of rice goes up again. About two weeks ago we bought a bag of rice in GMarket Azuela Cove and noticed that the price has gone up a little. Then we bought a week ago per kilo at a sari sari store nearby and it was even higher. Then last weekend, I asked hubby to buy rice for stock and since I don’t wanna carry heavy stuff because I should not do so also. He came home and said that he was only able to buy 3 kilos instead of the usual 4 kilos because the price has gone up to P63 in the suki sari sari store where we buy in retail.

With the price of rice going up, we noticed some restaurants rice serving size have become smaller. Either they serve smaller than the usual cup size they use, they have no choice but to increase the price. Just like this small eatery selling fried chicken with unlimited or what is usually called as unli rice, they had to make a temporary increase of 5 pesos.

That’s why it is cheaper to eat at home these days. Unless you go all out eating more in unli rice places. But I guess this is the right time as well to go for that long postponed “less rice” diet or better no rice anymore. Right, beshy?
