Paskris Tree Ceremony At The Marco Polo Davao
Last April 7, 2017 Marco Polo Davao started off the Easter season meaningfully with what is called a Paskris Tree ceremony witnessed by associates of the hotel, department heads with GM Dottie Wurgler-Cronin along with invited media and influencers.
“Paskris Tree is the Swedish term for Easter tree where in the bedazzled twigs represent the palm leaves that were placed on the ground for Jesus’ donkey to walk on in his triumphant return to Jerusalem. Palm trees are not native to Sweden, so this was the best they could do to imitate their more equatorial neighbors”, explains General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin during the ceremony.
“We encouraged everyone in our team to take part in this artful charitable event as part of our commitment to give back to our local community”, GM Dottie adds.
Around 2,000 eggs shells were hand painted and designed by the hotel associates and their families. Each egg corresponds to a certain cash donation to a chosen charity which is the Missionaries of Charity. The Paskris tree is found at the lobby of the hotel which is located in the heart of the city. You can give your cash donations to the front desk of the hotel. They accept any amount as every peso counts. The donation will be turned over to the chosen charity after Easter Sunday. Encourage your kids to share and donate to the charity through the Paskris Tree.
On Easter Sunday which is on April 16, Marco Polo will be having an Egg-citing Easter Party. It will be held at the Marco Polo Ballroom from 9AM-2PM. For Php600 nett, you will have a ticket to be able to join the Easter party that has freebies and plated snacks.
As for those planning to have a staycation in Davao this Easter season, Marco Polo has a promo for an overnight stay which starts at Php4,000 which includes buffet breakfast and special amenity for the kids.
