Movie Screening for the Hearing and Visually Impaired at SM City, August 15
SM City Davao, along with SM City Clark, SM Mall of Asia, SM City Bacoor and SM Seaside Cebu, will be holding a special movie screening for the hearing and visually impaired on August 15 at Cinema 3.
SM launched the Special Movie Screening program in 2013 with a single screening at the SM Megamall. Because of its very encouraging reception, in 2014, it was expanded to four other malls. Then, SM City Davao featured the film Les Miserables.
The project by SM Cares Committee on PWD Affairs is done in partnership with the Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), Deaf-Blind Support Philippines (DBSP), CALL Foundation and SM Cinemas. AKAP Pinoy, Philippine Blind Union, NCDA and the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled also support the project.
“The movies will feature audio-descriptions and closed captioning to benefit the visually impaired and the hearing impaired audience. The special screening is consistent with the SM Cares’ thrust to promote inclusion,”SM Davao mall manager Lynette Angala-Lopez shares. In the past, SM has also hosted special movie screenings for children with autism.
This Monday, SM City Davao will screen the animated film The Good Dinosaur at 9:00AM. Admission to the movie screening is free. For inquiries, interested parties may call 297-6998.
