HB1 Pharmacy’s Kids Health & Wellness Festival
Last October 23, 2016 HB1 Pharmacy held a Kids Health & Wellness Festival in time for the celebration of Children’s Month this October.
Many of the HB1 Pharmacy patrons who came to the activity center of NCCC Mall Davao from 8AM were treated with health and wellness treat particularly the children who were there with their parents and guardians.
The said event was aimed to promote and develop a healthier lifestyle for the kids of this generation. This activity is inline with HB1 Pharmacy’s aim to promote health and wellness among families within and outside Davao City. HB1 stands for Health and Beauty in 1.
Ms. Eloisa Simbajon, nutritionist from the Davao City Health Office talked about proper nutrition and diet for kids.
Ms. Lilibeth Ancheta, another nutritionist also gave a talk on kids health and wellness during the event.
After each of the two talks were done, the audience especially the parents and guardians were allowed to ask questions. They were each given a token by NCCC HB1.
Afterwards, the kids present in the festival had fun playing in the games where prizes were given away as well.
Paracetamol Tempra took part of the health and wellness festival.
Vidaylin Gummies vitamins with garden vegetables from Abbott
Free samples of vitamins B6, B1 and B12 Biovid Forte from Hovid were given to adults
Adults were able to avail of the free FBS (fasting blood sugar) testing using Johnson’s & Johnson’s One Touch Select Simple self monitoring blood glucose meter (which is sold around P1,800 if I heard it right) for those who want to know if they are diabetic or not.
I have not eaten breakfast when the test was taken since the event was early on a Sunday morning. I was below the normal range of 80-120 and I needed to eat something after that.
“Fasting blood sugar (FBS) measures blood glucose after you have not eaten for at least 8 hours. It is often the first test done to check for prediabetes and diabetes. 2-hour postprandial blood sugar measures blood glucose exactly 2 hours after you start eating a meal.”
There were free medical check-up and free consultation. There was also a special offer of flu vaccine for the first 100 kids.
Free food product samples Koko Krunch.
They also raffled off prizes during the event.
