Ford Philippines Brings Test Drive Roadshow & Driving Skills for Life Program to Davao City
Ford Motor Company is a global company based in Dearborn, Michigan. The company designs, manufactures, markets and services a full line of Ford cars, trucks, SUVs, electrified vehicles and Lincoln luxury vehicles, provides financial services through Ford Motor Credit Company and is pursuing leadership positions in electrification, autonomous vehicles and mobility solutions. Ford Philippines brings its test drive roadshow and safe driving programs which are globally-recognized to our city of Davao as they try to reach more clients and customers in our city and region. This is part of their goal to strengthen Filipino drivers awareness of how seriously important safe and responsible driving is for everyone to save lives particularly of your children family and dear loved ones.

This is Ford Philippines’ ultimate test drive experience that allows you to test drive the Everest mid-size SUV, EcoSport compact SUV, and the segment-defining Ranger pickup.

So we are calling all car enthusiasts and interested buyers to visit, explore as well as enjoy the test drive arena that will feature an outdoor course with a water-wading drive-thru to highlight key features and capabilities of the Everest and Ranger.

Also there will be a mock-up Ford showroom set up at the Ford Island Conquest to give customers and anyone there an opportunity to learn more about Ford’s sales and after-sales services as well as special ownership packages.  There will be freebies for those who will go there to register and participate in the activities. More than that if you purchase Ford vehicles there, you can avail of their cash discounts and financing deals offered only at the 3-day event.

Mr. Rodel Gallega, Vice President for Marketing and Sales of Ford Philippines has this to say, “Davao is a strong market for Ford and we are very excited to bring our Ford Island Conquest here after a series of successful rollouts in Metro Manila, Luzon, and Visayas. We look forward to seeing our customers in Davao experience our vehicles and avail of exclusive offers and privileges, which includes a chance to get a P100,000 cash discount for those purchasing their vehicles at the event.”

During the presscon that my hubby and I attended last October 4 at a meeting room of SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang along with other Davao Digital Influencers (DDI), Ford Davao sells around 100 Ford units per month. They sell more units during the holidays and sold more when new models came out last year.

One thing important to note is that Ford is bringing its globally-recognized Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program to Davao, a first in the ten-year history of DSFL in the country. DSFL is a United Nations-recognized training initiative that educates drivers about smart and safe driving skills to help minimize road accidents and promote fuel-efficient driving.

This year, Ford is planning for at least 1,500 drivers to participate in the DSFL training sessions. A specific focus this year will be the inclusion of public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers such as bus, jeepney, school bus, and taxi drivers, recognizing their critical role as motorists in ensuring that roads and passenger journeys are safe. DSFL is also expanding this year to cover key areas nationwide to reach more drivers around the country. Ford has also included Distracted Driving as one of the topics in the safety driving module in support of the recently-implemented Anti-Distracted Driving Law in the country.

Since its local launch in 2008, more than 20,000 Filipinos have participated in sessions of the DSFL campaign, which has been customized for the Philippines to reflect the local driving environment and road conditions. Working together with long-time partner Tuason Racing School, Ford provides an immersive and interactive training experience in its DSFL sessions.

“We’re proud to be celebrating the 10th year of DSFL in the Philippines, and to continue helping raise awareness about driver and road safety, as well as the dangers of distracted driving,” said EJ Francisco, AVP for Communications, Ford Philippines.

Ford began operations in Davao in May 2000 and is currently home to over 90 employees in sales and service. The Ford EcoSport, Ford Everest, and the Ford Ranger are its top-selling vehicles, complementing the various mobility needs of Davaoenos.

Again, do visit the Ford Island Conquest with your family and friends as this is open to the public and for free at the SM Lanang Premier Open Parking Lot C (near or in front of the SM Department Store front entrance of the mall) starting today October 6 to 8, 2017.  See you all there!
