SM Lanang Premier and Hijos de Davao Present Belles of the Ball Exhibit

Collection of gowns from muses of Hijos de Davao by Filipino fashion designers.

Present during the opening is the known Davao fashion icon and designer Alfonso “Boy” Guino-o who designed gowns for six of the Hijos de Davao muses since 1989.

Beautiful ladies, guests and the Belles of Hijos de Davao who will be celebrating their 50th year.

Ms. Jacqueline Garcia-Dizon, current president of Hijos de Davao led the launch. Ms. Joey Sy Domingo was the emcee of the program.

SM Lanang Premier Assistant Mall Manager Jerome Yeo welcomed the guests during the launch of Belles of the Ball exhibit.

Here’s part of Mr. Yeo’s welcome remarks:

“… we are to launch an exhibit that highlights the elegant tradition of Davao’s half a century old foundation. With this collection of past muse gowns of Hijos de Davao, we would have a glimpse of how the foundation has evolved throughout the years and how it has helped shape the lifestyle and culture of Davaoeno families, wo are movers and shakers of this vibrant metropolitan city.

The Belles of the Ball exhibit is very timely with this year’s 77th Araw ng Dabaw celebration. It is an excellent platform for promoting the unique and colorful heritage of Davao. Through this exhibit, residents of Davao City as well as tourists who are here for the Araw ng Dabaw and the Big Davao Fun Sale could see up close the gowns worn by Hijos de Davao’s muses in its yearly galas and appreciate the ensembles created by Filipino fashion designers.”
