Chefs Lau and Jackie at SM’s Davao Chocolate Festival on Sept. 25-27

The region’s sweetest and chocolatiest festival opens its doors on September 25 at SM City Davao Annex Event Center.

From last year’s very successful celebration, the second edition of the Davao Chocolate Festival will once again showcase chocolate processors and other related enterprises. It opens with the slicing of the giant chocolate cake on Friday, 10 AM. At 4PM, Davao’s top baristas will entertain the mall-goers at the Chocolate Mocktail Challenge.

On September 26, culinary art enthusiasts can listen to Chef Jackie Ang Po’s segment on “Baking Chocolates at Home”. An exciting afternoon also awaits everyone at the Chocolatier’s Match as the festival searches for this year’s best chocolate dessert.

On Sunday, the Cacao Industry Development Association of Mindanao (CIDAMI) is set to give updates on the Cacao industry at 10 AM. At 3PM, Chef Rolando Laudico will share his thoughts on cooking with chocolates at 3PM. At 4pm, the city’s best chocolate cake will be proclaimed at the Chocolate Cake Off.

The Golden Ticket

Score a Golden Ticket with a minimum of P5000 worth of single purchase from any mall tenant. A shopper only need to present their official receipt at the Golden Ticket redemption booth located at the Ground Floor of the Main Mall. Golden ticket holders are entitled to freebies from participating exhibitors. Only 20 tickets will be given away.

Alternatively, a shopper can win the golden ticket by guessing the number of golden chocolate coins inside the chocolate capsule. Shoppers only need to post a photo of the capsule with their guess on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, tagging SM City Davao and using the hashtag: #SMDavaoChocolateFestival. Shopper with the guess closest the actual number of gold coins wins.
