Father’s Day in Advance

Father’s Day as most of us know is celebrated every third Sunday of the month of June. We know Mother’s Day on the other hand is celebrated every second Sunday of May. It was quite a surprise when last weekend in the anticipated mass for Sunday, the fathers in the church parish were already greeted and blessed in advance. It goes on till all the Sunday masses as well in the parish.

Hubby was not surprised we greeted him too on Sunday when he left for work. The dads at church seemed surprised more so for the women – the moms and daughters who knew Father’s Day is still next week. I heard a father and son talking about pyramid foam instead when the priest was calling for the dads to bless and pray over towards the end of the mass celebration. This one dad chose to stay on his seat and just have his blessing next Sunday for he thought the special day is still next week. His family just let him be and smiled.

Well might as well greet all deserving dads, especially those who are truly responsible, hard-working, and loving dads an advance HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
