1st Anniversary of Bioessence Serenity Spa & Launching of pH Formula with Ms. Iya Villania
Bioessence Serenity Spa located at the third floor of Abreeza Mall Davao celebrated their 1st Anniversary last May 12 with special guest Iya Villania, an endorser of Bioessence who had a meet and greet show at Abreeza.
It was also the launching of Bioessence’s new product line called pH Formula. There was a presscon held at the Bioessence Gold with Ms. Iya Villania, a host of ABS-CBN’s early morning show Umagang kay Ganda, as the new and younger celebrity endorser of Bioessence. Iya and Nikki Gil were chosen by Dr. Guerrero as their latest endorsers because of their image and disciplined lifestyle as young celebrities busy with their respective showbiz career.
Dra. Emma Guerrero, President of Bioessence Philippines and also Mr. Jules Cabanero, Marketing Director of Bioessence were with Ms. Iya during the presscon.

Today, some people got to get in the newest store to open in Abreeza. We took a peek and had to leave because we were quite in a hurry. Will be back tomorrow to check the latest branch of one of UK’s leading retailers of women’s wear, men’s wear, lingerie, beauty products and more. This is the first in Davao and the second in Mindanao after CDO’s Lim Ket Kai. It is under Rustan Marketing Specialists, Inc. (RMSI) which is the official franchisee of Marks & Spencer in the Philippines. (more…)
Starbucks Coffee | Abreeza Mall Davao
While enjoying my first cup of the new drink from Starbucks, the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino blended beverage that they started serving today, I like looking at this and looking forward to the next new drink they will be serving.
They have a non-coffee alternative to this new drink that kids can drink which is also available already, the Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappuccino blended beverage. We will try that next time for our little guy and see if he likes it just as he liked the Chocolate Chip Cream Frappuccino blended beverage which is non-coffee as well.

The SM City Davao has a new unique ceiling design when you look up from the atrium area. It gives a modern, sophisticated look compared before as it levels up with the new and other malls in the city of Davao.
Shoppers at SM Davao have enjoyed the new look with renovations that the mall has done for the past year especially in the SM Department Store, plus with the new SM Davao Annex that has opened with more new shops and restaurants for families to enjoy dining at.

The Annex SM City Davao had its soft opening for the new and bigger Cyberzone today March 9, 2012.
We made a quick trip to SM City Davao in Quimpo Boulevard, Ecoland, Davao City after noon today to check out what The Annex in SM has to offer. We entered it through the bridgeway from Level 2 connecting the main mall of SM and The Annex.
It looks bigger inside than I thought. It’s clean and big. Can’t wait for all the stores to be all open.
Some of the stores that were already open there were Globe, Nokia, Nikon, Digibabe, Games & Gadgets, Skycom, Tekpone, Metrovi, Photoline, 8telcom, SST Laptop, Game Place, I-Click, Case Logic, CDR King, and PhilCopy.
The rest of the stores will open either on the March 15 or 22 when Starbucks will open its second branch in Davao City. Other stores to open are Krispy Kreme, SumoSam, Grab A Crab, Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken, BreadTalk, Lee, Guess, Jag, Dickies, Team Manila, Thinking Tools, i.h.o.p., Ghostrecon Cyberclub, among others.

Love this shot of Abreeza that I took three days after Christmas while making the most of the remaining days of Christmas holiday 2011, we decided to go to the mall around eight in the evening already.
Indeed life is here in Davao. It is peaceful at night and we had no fear then in going out quite late in the evening already plus the evening weather was good. It was already rather quiet that time that I took the chance to take this snapshot just using the Lexy (our old yet still trusty LX5).

One thing that I look forward to during Christmas in Davao is seeing what Marco Polo Hotel Davao has for their Christmas decor when we get a chance to pass by the international deluxe hotel’s lobby on our way to the Cafe Marco buffet restaurant whenever we do get to celebrate dear hubby’s special day there a few days before Christmas.
I love their Marco Polo’s Christmas decoration this year. I wanted to think I’d wait for Santa Claus to come out of that chimney, right? Or maybe get to grab one of those teddy bears if MPD is willing to give them to the hotel guests and patrons. Do come and visit Marco Polo Hotel located in the heart of Davao City.
We already look forward to what they will have for Christmas 2012!

They used the so-called all-weather escalator which you can see in the photo above is said to be the first in Davao.
This is the first time we have seen The Peak at night. We have been here a few times before in October but during the day only when Figaro Coffee Company Opens at The Peak of Gaisano Mall Davao just recently opened then.
Love the colorful lights and the ambiance of this whole new place which reminds a friend of mine of the Sky Garden in SM City North EDSA. I actually have not seen that one though.
It is good to know that Gaisano Mall developed this rooftop area into this wonderful new place to go and hangout to in Davao with your family and friends as we get closer to the Christmas season. This could be their answer in leveling up as Abreeza Mall Davao opened last May 2011 and SM Lanang which is still under construction and said to open May 2012 which is just six months away.
There were quite more people than expected since today is a holiday. We saw many barkadas and families enjoying this new place that has a good view of downtown Davao and The Pinnacle hotel just across as seen in the photo above.
A little side story, Francis Magbanua of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol Mindanao I think was doing a live report feed for the news. I first noticed their white van on top then saw them stationed with the rather glaring studio lights at the edge where you can see the Pinnacle building in this photo.

At the Torres Street, Davao City which we checked out on its first day. The bazaar will run until Sunday so that Davao holiday shoppers will have more time to visit and do their early Christmas shopping for family, friends and loved ones.
These ones below are beautiful. I am sure the lil guy and I would be delighted to have one of these. I hope we can come back here to ask for the prices.

Dencia’s | Holy Thursday 2011
We went to Dencia’s Restaurant Davao on Holy Thursday 2011 after coming from the hospital’s ER and we need to find a place to have our lunch. I was surprised to find more people dining than I expected. We were so hungry already with no breakfast yet so we have to find a place nearby to have a late lunch and super late breakfast that is all in one.
It was a somehow a blessing that they were open when most malls and restaurants in town were closed for Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Some people are not fasting. Anyway we fasted our breakfast and I will fast during dinner later.
Palm Sunday 2011
Today is Palm Sunday 2011. I was reminded when I passed by these palms for sale (not yet blessed of course) in the side walk on our way to the church that is near the hospital where we just came from. There were many vendors of such palms formed into crosses that people are buying to have them blessed.
Palm Sunday falls on the Sunday before Easter. It is the feast that commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. I see people placing or hanging these blessed palms on or above doorways and windows in front of their house. A belief that it will drive away bad spirits aside from its original meaning of welcoming Jesus into their homes.
People’s Park Davao
We were able to find some time to visit the People’s Park Davao mid morning one day. I realized it was nice to sit in this park under the shade of these trees and enjoy a quiet and windy morning in the heart of the city. But that was a week day because I think it would be different if it is in a weekend with more people coming in to spend their day in this park.
Wish I can come back here early morning on a weekday for some jogging or even just brisk walking. Well good luck to me!
Legaspi Suites Davao
A trip to the Legaspi Suites Davao at night will be good for those group of friends who would like to hang around or have a drink or dine in an al fresco or open dining space. The place is nice at night and honestly I would love to have a house with a surrounding like this.
We were here for a food trip at Kusina Selera upon hearing of the resto located inside the compound. We also took a peek of Legaspi Suites. I wonder if their rooms are nice and cozy to stay if there are guests from out of town. Will have to find out about that. There is coffee shop here too called Tata Benito’s A Whole Latte Love that you could try.
