SM Davao marks Earth Day with Eco Fair

SM City Davao in partnership with People Collaborating for Environment and Economic Management (PCEEM) will be marking the Earth Day celebration with an Eco Fair on April 21-23 at the mall’s Annex Event Center.

For the past years, together with the Earth Day Network and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, SM Davao has been observing the Earth Day through info campaigns and exhibits geared towards educating its shoppers on simple and doable ways to save the planet.

With the global theme Earth Day Everyday, Everywhere for Everyone, SM and PCEEM will highlight eco-friendly products in the Eco Fair which will open on April 21. A series of lecture-seminars will also be conducted to further develop awareness among the mallgoers. Lecture series topics include: rapid composting technology, vermi-composting, urban organic agriculture, toxic waste and chemical safety, prospects and challenges of the dairy industry in the midst of climate change, fish culture and water sanitation. Admission is free.

On April 22, a Recycling Market Fair will also be held at mall’s Parking C. Offices, households and individuals are encouraged to turn their recyclables of paper, plastics, scrap metals and e-wastes into cash. The Earth Day Recycling Fair is done on top of SM’s regular Trash to Cash event every firstFriday and Saturday of the month which allows its shoppers to properly dispose of their wastes and earn from it at the same time.
