Shining Holidays for Marco Polo Davao This 2017
Marco Polo Davao, the premier hotel right at the heart of Davao has formally started the most wonderful time of the year with its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held last November , 2017.
Marco Polo Davao’s Acting Director of Finance Tirso Bitacura welcomed the special guests and media that special night.
Ms. Dottie Wurgler-Cronin, Hotel General Manager was joined by Mrs. Virginia Anderson and Major General Noel Clement of the 10th Infantry Division in the ceremonial lighting.
The Hotel building and Lobby was dressed up with the theme “Shining Holidays”. Native ornaments in gold and white were decorated in the 12-feet sized Christmas Tree and Hotel hallway.
This 2017 holiday season is more meaningful for Marco Polo Davao as they launched its Corporate Social Responsibility activity which is Bangon Marawi donation drive. Guests at the hotel who wish to help in their own little way in the rehabilitation of Marawi City can make their contribution and they will be able to hang a Christmas Star, named after the respective donor, at the Christmas trees found in the hotel lobby.
“Christmas is a season of great joy: a time for remembering the past and hoping for the future. May this lighting ceremony be a symbol of hope to our country and a reminder to us that we can be an instrument of bringing lightness to the darkest moments of our fellow Filipinos.” said GM Dottie.
Marco Polo Davao’s lighting ceremony was graced with the presence of the Department of Tourism Regional Director Robbie Alabado, Councilor Bernie Al-ag, Davao City Tourism’s Generose Tecson, Davao Tourism Association, Hijos de Davao Foundation, JCI Davaoeña Daba-Daba and JCI Davao Inc., friends from the media, members of the Davao Digital Influencers, as well as partners from the corporate and private sector.
The event was full of Holiday cheer as the Melodies of Marco Polo Davao with its choir director Jeremy Sarmiento sang their rendition of popular Christmas songs. The Melodies are composed of the talented Marco Polo Davao associates- Soprano: Tang Jabilles, Girlie Junsay, Jeline Gison, Princess Barsalote; Alto: Sally Tungpalan, Sarah Mama, Merian Que, Fatima Palma, Cherry Milgo, Marian Bongcawel; Tenor: Stephen Duguiles, Christopher Tiozon, Mac Bague, Ephraim Pandoy, Gideon Sencil and Lawrence Ibarra.
