Mayor Sara’s Gowns by Silverio on Exhibit at SM Lanang Premier
In keeping with the city’s Kadayawan Festival, SM Lanang Premier promotes Davao’s artistry and talent with a special exhibit of seasoned fashion designer Silverio Anglacer from August 16-21, 2016 at the mall Atrium.
The exhibit by Silverio features a collection of gowns worn by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. It kicks off Moda Mindanao, the region’s longest-running fashion design competition, which will be held this Kadayawan weekend,August 21.
Davao-based Silverio is the go-to designer of the first family, the Dutertes. His recent couture creation – the form-fitting tulle royal blue gown worn by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio at the historic inauguration of President Rodrigo Duterte – placed him in the national spotlight, earning him rave reviews and numerous praises for its striking style and elegance. Silverio also made the inaugural outfits of Mayor Sara’s mom, Elizabeth Zimmerman and her grandchildren.
Opening on Tuesday, August 16, the special exhibit aims to pay homage to the unique aesthetic and creativity of Davao fashion designers like Silverio while showcasing the iconic ensemble of the First daughter at the country’s most significant event this year.
Moda Mindanao, now on its 11th season, has found a new home at SM Lanang Premier. Redefined as a ‘Young Fashion Designers Competition,’ it seeks to promote contemporary Mindanaoan fashion and pave the way for young and emerging local designers to be recognized in the national and global fashion scene.
Mallgoers can witness the latest creations from 10 promising designers who will vie for Moda Mindanao Season 11 slated on August 21, 6pm at The Atrium. As a festival treat, they can enjoy as well up to 70% off on fab finds at SM Lanang Premier’s ongoing Kadayawan Sale, which runs until August 21.
