Japanese calligraphy is a form of calligraphy or writing in an artistic way of the Japanese language.
It is also described as the art of drawing Japanese characters with a brush as an expression of spiritual depth and beauty.
It is also called shodo in Japanese.

The group introducing themselves after their performance.
I visited their booth a few hours before they performed onstage. They posed for a photo opp. One of the members was not there at that time. They were very friendly and accommodating.
Then before they performed on stage, Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte visited their booth and had his name written in Japanese Kenji. Afterwards our Mayor also had a photo opp with all the members of Shockers.
You can visit their booth at the left side corner near the stage.
It was really interesting to see them at work. I get to think of my own son who knows how to write a few Chinese characters too as they learn Chinese in their school. Now it crossed my mind what if he learns to write in Japanese too. That would be great!
It’s always fascinating to see someone write characters in a different language as it done artistically and with passion.
I always appreciate works of art like this. I wish I can read and understand it as well to make us appreciate more what it is.

Have your name written in Japanese Kanji for only P100. They told me that the proceeds will be given to the Yolanda victims.
To them we say, “Domo arigatou gozaimasu!” for this very thoughtful gesture.
It is always great to hear people especially from other countries continuing to help Filipinos who were victims of Typhoon Yolanda who still need our continuous help even up to now.
