Davao Photos: National Children’s Book Reading Day at SM Lanang Premier

SM Lanang Premier celebrated National Children’s Book ReadingDay yesterday, July 21, 2015. This event is done annually every 3rd Tuesday of July in all SM Malls to commemorate the publication of Dr. Jose Rizal’s classic, “Ang Pagong at Ang Matsing.”
              

Michelle Robin, ABS-CBN Davao New Chief also Exec. Producer and Host – Maayong Buntag Mindanao read to students of Assumption College of Davao.

Ms. Jenefe Simbajon, 1st runner-up of Mutya ng Dabaw 2015 and Diwa ng Davao 2015 also read another story to the Grade 2 students of Assumption College of Davao Integrated Basic Education Department.

Teachers distributed the free story books from Vibal Publishing to participating students to encourage them the daily habit of reading.

Guest storytellers Michelle Robin (photo below) and Jenefe Simbajon (above photo) were also given certificates of appreciation by SM Lanang Premier’s Assistant Mall Manager, Mr. Jerome Ryan L. Yeo.

Krispy Kreme gave original glazed doughnuts as snack treats to the ACD students.

Nice to see this young girl among the students above reading a book with such interest. May our young kids these days develop the passion for reading real, good books despite the temptation of those games from gadgets that they have in this age of technology.
