Asian Volleybal Confederation (AVC) Cup for Women 2022 held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City in the Philippines from August 21 to 29, 2022. The Philippines was represented by :

Team captain Alyssa Valdez had dengue and Risa Sato due to health concerns – both were not able to play in the AVC Cup. The CCS is moving on to represent our country anew in the 2022 Asian Grand Prix.
Now here’s the final standings in the recently concluded AVC Cup Volleyball for Women 2022:

The Philippines 6th Place finish is a historic one being the best finish standing so far for the Philippines in an Asian tournament since the 80’s. We are proud of our Creamline Cool Smashers ladies who were able to still play well all of their 6 games in 7 days.
Japan’s Mika Shibata was named MVP; Rena Mizusugi as Best Libero; and Hiroyo Yamanaka as one of the Best Middle Blockers.
China’s Zhou Yetong was named Best Opposite Hitter; Hu Mingyuan as one of the Best Middle Blockers; and Wu Mengjie as one of the Best Outside Hitters.
Meanwhile Thailand’s Pornpun Geudpard was Best Setter and Chachu-on Moksri as one of the Best Outside Hitters.

Hope our younger volleyball players will be able to get more exposure to international games to hone and train them well to compete not just in an Asian tournament level but more international level as well.
