Kadayawan Festival 2009

It’s August once again and time for Dabawenyos to celebrate Kadayawan Festival 2009 from August 17 to 23, 2009 with the theme this year “Nahiusang Katawhan Nakigdait sa Kalibutan” (“One People in Communion with the Earth”). This year is the 24th year of the Kadayawan Festival.

The 2009 Kadayawan Festival is made up of Lumadnong Kasaulogan (Indigenous Peoples Festival) which is the core of the Kadayawan Festival which shows the culture and arts of our indigenous people; and Subay sa Lumadnong Kagikan (Contemporary Indigenous-motivated Celebrations) which shows the impact  of contemporary artists and communities of the indigenous culture and traditions. The Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan, Floral Float parade, search for Hiyas ng Kadayawan, are among the Kadayawan activities that most people look forward to.  Check out the Kadayawan events this August 2009 here.
